Prehistoric Underwater Cave: La Grotte Cosquer, Marseille
La Grotte Cosquer is a prehistoric cave located in Marseille (just an hour from La Grande Bastide de Lauris). Discovered in 1985 by Henri Cosquer, the cave contains some of the most remarkable examples of Paleolithic art, dating back over 27,000 years. The cave is named after Henri and his team of divers who were the first to explore the underwater entrance to the cave.
